Excursion

Every registered student and every lecturer of this Summer School, and also every registered participant of the OGLAL-2011 conference held in parallel is cordially invited to join.
Please note that everyone participates at her/his own risk at all times!

Please let us know on the first day of the Summer School or OGLAL if you are joining the excursion and whether you would like to go rafting (see below). However, places on the raft are limited and we cannot guarantee a place; preference will be given to students.

At 06:00, we will depart to Kutaisi by bus from Chavchavadze Avenue, no. 1, Building I.
In Kutaisi, we will split in two groups for about one hour: While the one will visit Bagrati cathedrale, the other one goes rafting on Rioni river: The difficulty level of rafting is said to be low, but swimming and being in good health condition are necessary skills.
We will visit the Sataplia cave for about two hours, then the Gelati monastery.
On the way back to Tbilisi, we will stop in the old city of Mtskheta.
Between 19:00 and 20:00, we should be back in Tbilisi. The bus will go directly to the restaurant Tsarabi for conference dinner.
If you do not participate in the excursion but want to go to the dinner, please ask us for directions as taxidrivers will not find it.
