Welcome Party
We are throwing an unofficial party to welcome all the EMCL students. We will meet at 20:00 at the U-Bahn station Rathaus and then go to the Tunnel.
Social Dinner
is a group dinner for all the participants of the workshop. It will take place in the restaurant Figlmüller located on Bäckerstraße 6. You can get there from the U-Bahn station Stephansplatz. We will meet at the restaurant. The dinner is sponsored by the Joint Commission.
City Tour
The city tour will take place on Wednesday February 22. Under the guidance of one of the second-year students studying in Vienna, we will walk around the city for about two hours to see and learn about some of the amazing sights the Austrian capitol has to offer. We will meet at 14:30 in front of the main building of the TU Wien, at Karlsplatz 13 (see the map below). The tour will finish at the Rathaus, at the ice skating rink, in time for the ice skating event. The city tour is free of cost.
Ice Skating
In the park next to the city hall, the whole month of February there is an ice skating venue. We will go there on Wednesday February 22, to enjoy the atmosphere and have a go at ice skating, for those who want. We will meet at the steps at the front door of the Rathaus (see the map below) at 16:30. There are several rinks and some ice skating paths throughout the park. There are also many food and drink stalls, and music around the venue is provided by Radio Wien. Entrance to the ice costs 6 euro, and ice skates can be rented for 6.50 euro.
