Travelling to Vienna

The workshop will start on Friday, 26 November, early afternoon and end on Sunday, 28 November around noon.
Thus 26 and 28 November are the default arrival and departure days, respectively.

Reaching the hotels:

(from the airport:) There are several options for getting into the city from the airport, either by train or by bus. One possibility beyond taking a taxi is to take the City Airport Train (timetable) to Vienna Center. There switch to the metro U4 (green line), direction Hütteldorf, to Karlsplatz and get out at the exit Wiedner Hauptstrasse. For the Hotel Shermin Vienna you just have to walk for five minutes along the Wiedner Hauptstrasse, for the hotels 3 Kronen and Carlton Opera you can as well take the tramways 62 (direction Lainz), 1 (direction Stefan Fadinger Platz), or the "Badner Bahn WLB" (direction Baden Josefsplatz). Get off at the next stop, Paulanergasse, and turn right into Paulanergasse for Hotel Carlton Opera, or Schleifmühlgasse for Hotel 3 Kronen (see the map). For the Hotel Johann Strauss take the metro line U1 (red line), direction Reumannplatz from Karlsplatz and get off at the next stop (Taubstummengasse). After taking the exit labelled Taubstummengasse the hotel is located just on the other side of the road.

Reaching the conference site:

(from the hotels:) The conference site is located within 10min walking distance from all the hotels as shown on the map.
(coming from Prague:) Get off the train at "Wien Simmering", take the metro U3 to Stephansplatz, there switch to the metro U1 (red line), direction Reumannplatz, and get off after two stops at "Taubstummengasse". After taking the exit labelled Taubstummengasse just walk straight ahead along Favoritenstrasse for 20 metres. Some trains coming from Prague also stop at "Wien Nord/Praterstern". If so, you can also get off there and take the metro U1, direction Reumannplatz, directly to Taubstummengasse (much faster).
